The Wand

Studio 2015 Jewelers has created a pendant named The Wand that represents hope and positive energy to its owner in times of crisis. The Wand exists because of the owner's personal experience with such a symbol.

Minutes before our store's drawing for the winner of a diamond pendant, a loyal client and her daughter dropped in to visit. She was persuaded to enter the drawing and her daughter was asked to draw the lucky name. With one sweep of her arm, the daughter knocked the basketful of entries to the floor. After the staff collected them, she reached into the basket and drew her mother's name. Feeling a little bit embarrassed and very lucky, the two left with the diamond pendant

Months later, owners Tom & April Dougherty stopped by the store on their way to the hospital where April was to begin a new treatment for a rare ovarian cancer. They found a small package with this note:

Dear April,
“This morning as I was taking off this diamond and putting on a different pendant, I thought of you and Tom. Such wonderful warm people you are. I was thinking of the incredible, unbelievable good luck it took for my daughter to pull my name.

Therefore, I would really like for you to have this and wear it for a little extra good luck in your recovery to wellness. We think of you so much and wish all the best thoughts for you all. I do believe there is more to healing that pure scientific medicine and hope that this symbol of good luck and warm hopeful thoughts of you will somehow make a bit of a difference.”

April carefully unwrapped the package containing the diamond pendant won by their client and friend.

April wore that diamond throughout her battle and when she beat the odds of a million to one as a survivor of this deadly cancer, Tom realized that everyone could use a symbol to represent hope and good luck during difficult times. The Wand is not presented as a substitute for faith or medicine but as a symbol of inner courage, resilience and strength. It should remind each of us that we have our own path to follow and can do so if we remain focused and determined.
